The game was great for all the right reasons, and all incidences were surrounded by one man. No, not Cristiano Ronaldo, but from a man with lots of talent but didn't put them to good use. One of the earliest fancied left backs to take the England spot, gifted with speed, strength and a great left foot. Micheal ball used his left foot and speed for all the wrong reasons. A second minute stomp of his left boot on the United number seven left Ronaldo with stud marks on his belly. In the second half, with all his speed and weight, Ball earned a penalty that even a younger Ronaldo might have appreciated.
Despite the attempts of Ball, United still emerged as 1-0 winners.
Luck? It would not be too much of an exaggeration to think so. Justified? It would be difficult to find even the most ardent Chelsea fan that would disagree. Stomped by the left boot then fouled in the box by the left boot. Ronaldo stepping up to convert the penalty he earned from Ball. If that wasn't Karma enough, the penalty that Ball "earned" was well saved by Van Der Sar. Not often in football is Justice served, but today of all days during the Manchester Derby, Justice was duly served to the team in Blue.
